The traditional Hebrew prayer has been effectively set to original music in this simple, elegant piece by Linda Marcus and Ruth Elaine Schram. Unlike so many Hanukkah pieces, it is in major mode. It moves along in 3/4 time, weaving a beautiful melody on top of a flowing piano accompaniment. A part for optional C-instrument (it was recorded with flute but would be beautiful with violin or oboe) is included, as well as a description of the text by the authors, and a pronunciation guide.

This Christmas choral, which combines original material with two familiar tunes, "O Come, Little Children" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful," is a great opener for school programs, particularly combined programs.
