The piano introduction sets the mood for this lovely, inspirational piece by Linda Marcus and Ruth Elaine Schram.  "We don't know where these roads may take us, but nothing is strong enough to break us..." Arranged for SSA(B) voices, the baritone range is limited and does not go above a Middle C, and rarely below G (the lowest note is E).  With this part being optional, the piece can easily be performed SSA.  It is the perfect choice for graduation, as the text speaks of the power of music to bind us together with wonderful memories and hope for the future, and may also be used for festivals or concerts as a "love-of-music / music appreciation" piece.

This little pop gem from years gone by (words by Herb Magidson; music by Carl Sigman; arranged by Ruth Elaine Schram) is delightful for your young singers today! The text tells the listener that life is short and should be enjoyed now instead of waiting until it is too late. Ruthie has written easy, two-part harmonies, incorporating the use of echo and repetition of patterns. The feel is a rhythmic samba and both parts get to share the melody. Cute and wonderfully novel!

For Who You Are
Written for older elementary or middle school treble choirs, this anthem for Mother's Day or Father's Day expresses gratitude for the blessing of parents – from the perspective of a child. Repetitive sections and melodic phrases allow singers to learn the piece quickly. For choirs of two part singers, the anthem's ending includes an optional second vocal part that creates a lovely duet with the expressive melody.

The traditional Hebrew prayer has been effectively set to original music in this simple, elegant piece by Linda Marcus and Ruth Elaine Schram. Unlike so many Hanukkah pieces, it is in major mode. It moves along in 3/4 time, weaving a beautiful melody on top of a flowing piano accompaniment. A part for optional C-instrument (it was recorded with flute but would be beautiful with violin or oboe) is included, as well as a description of the text by the authors, and a pronunciation guide.

He Will Be the Love
The emphasis upon Divine love is a universal image of promise for the season of lights. With a memorable melody, this graceful anthem weaves a spell of beauty, making it ideal for the candle lighting moment in your Advent service. Three scenes from the life of Christ where He experienced physical thirst are presented in this moving anthem. From the manger to the 40 days in the wilderness to his last moments on the cross, this anthem reminds us that ironically Jesus is the "Living Water" for our spiritual thirst. This gentle, flexible anthem is a perfect choice when lighting the peace candle during Advent. However it is not so specific to Advent that it could not be used throughout the year for other services with a "peace" focus.
